Concrete and Metal barriers are more expensive and do not provide anywhere near the same durability as our high density polyethylene. Over time concrete will crack and metal will rust. While running bamboo is not forceful, it is persistant and will fit through even the smallest cracks & holes.
In addition Bamboo Shield is typically easier to install than any other method. Just dig a trench, drop in the shield, and fill the hole.
